Review:

Synopsis:

Years after the collapse of civilization, the tyrannical Immortan Joe enslaves apocalypse survivors inside the desert fortress the Citadel. When the warrior Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) leads the despot's five wives in a daring escape, she forges an alliance with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), a loner and former captive. Fortified in the massive, armored truck the War Rig, they try to outrun the ruthless warlord and his henchmen in a deadly high-speed chase through the Wasteland.

Mad Max Fury Road is one of the most unique films to come out in a very long time. Instead of just making a new Mad Max, George Miller decided to turn this movie into a spectacle. With its very fast pacing and breathtaking shots, this movie pulls no punches. A movie filmed like this can go badly very quickly, but if done right, you get a product that truly stands out among the rest. One of my favorite aspects of this movie is the costume design. Just like in the original trilogy, the movie plays heavily into the wasteland aesthetic, making every scene that much more invigorating. With that being said, in my opinion the movie does have a few too many driving fights and I would have liked to see a little bit more of the world and the characters outside of their vehicles.
